3 Kinds of Indoor Pollutants
Particles . Bioaerosols . Odors/Chemicals

Particles are any substance measuring less than 100 microns (a very small measurement) in diameter. Particles are pollen, dust mites, dirt, skin flakes, and pet dander just to name a few.

Normal air conditioning filters can not catch these particles, you must have a filter with a minimum rating of MERV 10.

Bioaerosols are microscopic living organisms that grow and multiply in warm, humid places. Exposure to these organisms can occur in even the most well-maintained living environments. Bioaerosols examples are bacteria, viruses, mold spores, and fungi.

Odors/Chemicals are air contaminants in the form of gases. Concentrations of chemicals found in the home are largely determined by air circulation, product usage, and types of furnishings. Examples are pet odors, cooking smells, perfumes, smoke, chlorine, cleaning supplies, and off gassing of floorings and furniture.

Filter Options

Mechanical Filters - 4" thick, MERV 8 to MERV 11 rated. Filters need to be changed every 6 months.

 

 

 

Lennox PMAC Mechanical Filter - 9" thick, MERV 10 rated. Filters need to be changed once a year. Removes 80% of circulated dust & particles and 65% of Bioaerosols.

 

 

 

Lennox PureAir Air Purification System - Merv 9 filter, non-ozone UV lights, and titanium dioxide catalyst that utilizes Photocatalytic Oxidation Technology. The only product that removes 75% of particles, 60% of Bioaerosols, and destroys 50% of household odors & chemicals vapors in a 24 hour period!

Honeywell Electronic Air Cleaner - Removes 99% of particles. Must be cleaned every 6 months.

 

 

 

 

Portable HEPA Air Filtration - 99.97% particle filtration. Provides filtration for rooms or small areas when whole house filtration is not needed or feasible. Allows part-time residents to take it with them.

 

 

UV Lights - Keep your air conditioning coils sterilized. You're A/C coil is where mold, bacteria, viruses, and fungi are collected. UV lights kill these carbon based items. Along with professional maintenance and filtration, it is the best way to insure healthy air
